Plastic bans are gaining momentum. In the name of combating marine plastic pollution, certain countries have begun to ban all kinds of plastic tableware, plastic bottles, plastic bags and other disposable plastic products that people use and throw away. In the United States, the first to bear the brunt of plastic straws. The current production of plastic straws raw materials for polymer materials. Traditional plastic straws, generally non-biodegradable, due to single-use, and easy to release into the environment, easy to enter the rivers, lakes and oceans, bringing "white pollution".
There are several ways to replace traditional non-biodegradable straws.
(1). Completely biodegradable straws such as biodegradable plastic straws, paper straws, starch straws, etc.
(2). Reusable straws, such as stainless steel straws, glass straws, etc.
1. Paper straws
Paper straws use food-grade virgin wood pulp paper as the main raw material, and its production process is made of three or four layers of food-grade paper coated with glue, rolled tube, slitting, drying and other steps. During the molding process, we need to pay attention to the machine speed, glue amount and other factors, and adjust the diameter of the straw through the size of the mandrel. The whole production process of paper straws is relatively simple and easy for mass production.
2. Starch straws
Starch straws are produced by using wheat, rice, corn, cassava, potato and other natural crop starch as the main raw material, which can meet the needs of contacting different beverage and dairy liquids after a lot of verification and testing. Starch straws are not melted when used, but also edible, do not produce pollution, and can achieve the purpose of environmental protection. The production process of starch straws has abandoned the traditional way of straw production and created a brand new production method. The whole set of production line is made by raw material configuration and mixing → high temperature extrusion → cutting and forming → hot air drying → sterilization and packaging, which can reach automatic and large-scale production.
3. Reusable straws: glass straws, stainless steel straws
In addition to the above several biodegradable straw products, there are reusable glass straws, stainless steel straws are also a good alternative to plastic straws.
Glass straws: made of high borosilicate glass, the appearance of the product is bright and transparent, clean and easy to clean, it is cold and heat resistant, whether it is juice, milk tea or hot coffee can be used, the upper and lower ports of the straws are polished and polished treatment will not cause scratches to the user, both the elderly and children can be safe to use.
Stainless steel straws: made of food contact grade material, stainless steel straws surface metal material will not cause harm to human health, the product looks beautiful, and can be used repeatedly, reflecting the concept of environmental protection, because of the glass and stainless steel straws sucking when there is a hard feeling of metal and glass, do not bite to play, especially to pay attention to safety in the process of use, the risk of accidental injury.
For reusable straws, cleaning and disinfection is the top priority, in order to solve this problem each package is equipped with a straw brush specially cleaned straws for cleaning and disinfection.
4. Plant straws: bamboo straws
Bamboo straws: the use of the original bamboo refined, bamboo stem cut by physical polishing, smooth color and beauty, bamboo raw materials have been drained and baked treatment, in the use of the process will not appear broken or leakage. It can be cleaned with water after use and can be used many times.
